Vegan banana and cacao smoothie bowl that tastes just like chocolate ice cream…but it’s secretly healthy!
Smoothies? I’m in! Chocolate smoothies that taste just like smooth, creamy ice cream? For BREAKFAST?! Yup, definitely in.
This vegan banana cacao smoothie bowl features cacao and frozen bananas that blend into a delicious creamy smoothie and the best part is that it’s soo healthy!
What is Cacao Powder?
Have you heard of it or used it?
Cacao powder is different than cocoa powder. Both come from the cacao plant, but the difference is in how it’s processed!
Cacao powder is less processed, so you’ll see more nutritional benefits: magnesium, vitamin C, fiber and potassium. Also, cacao powder contains antioxidants!
Don’t worry- if you don’t have cacao powder, you can use cocoa powder for this recipe!
How to Make
This is so crazy easy!
First, you’ll need frozen bananas. It won’t work without frozen bananas so either chop and freeze the night before, or you can chop and freeze for a minimum of 4 hours.
Simply place your frozen bananas, plant-based milk, cocoa powder and nut butter in a blender. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Remove from blender and add to a bowl. Top with your favorite healthy plant-based toppings. My favorites are hemp seeds, cacao nibs, goji berries and nuts like almonds or walnuts!

Notes:
