This delicious banana cream pie Greek yogurt parfait is a high protein dessert that is reminiscent of the classic banana cream pie! Gluten-free and can be made vegan
Get ready for one of my favorite recipes yet! We have made these banana cream pie Greek yogurt parfaits so many times and they are just SO good! This makes a wonderful dessert because of the high protein content- it’s very satisfying and keeps us full. I also love giving this to my kids because I know they are getting protein, natural probiotics from the yogurt as well as a delicious dessert with very little added sugar.
Here is what you will need and how to make them:
Ingredients
Greek Yogurt- either full fat or low fat is fine. I prefer full fat.
Canned Coconut Cream- make sure it’s canned and unsweetened! This adds a richness just like classic banana cream pie
Bananas- obviously! You’ll need at least 4 for this recipe. I like to keep mine in the refrigerator overnight so that the bananas are cold. This helps keep the parfaits cold without needing to refrigerate them! But it isn’t necessary.
Pure Maple Syrup- this recipe is mostly sweetened by the bananas, but I like to add just a tiny bit of pure maple syrup.
Vanilla Extract- just a bit to add a vanilla taste
Graham Crackers- your favorite graham crackers will do! I personally like to use the Simple Mills honey cinnamon sweet thins as they are my favorite.
Substitutions
For Dairy-Free & Vegan: I personally have not tried using any other yogurt, but I assume any type of dairy-free/vegan yogurt will work in place of the Greek yogurt. Graham crackers typically have honey in them, those can be substituted for a vegan graham cracker as well.
Coconut Cream- heavy cream would work in place of the canned coconut cream. You could also just omit it, but it will definitely lose a lot of that classic creamy rich flavor that banana cream pie has.
Pure Maple Syrup: since we are only using such a tiny amount of additional sweetener, any type of sweetener you have should work.
How to Make
It couldn’t be easier! Start by mashing your bananas. To get one cup of mashed banana, you’ll need about two or three medium size bananas. Measure out one cup mashed and add to a bowl. Then simply add the rest of the ingredients. I like to use a whisk so there are no big clumps. For the pure maple syrup: I usually add about 1 + 1/2 tablespoons. Start with one, taste, go from there!
To assemble the parfaits, grab 2 glass jars (or cups) and crush up your graham crackers. Add the crushed graham crackers to the bottom of the jars. Then add some sliced bananas on top. Top that with a generous portion of the Greek yogurt mixture. Then continue to layer: crushed graham crackers, sliced bananas and the Greek yogurt mixture! You can also top with whipped cream to take it to the next level.
These banana cream pie Greek yogurt parfaits are best enjoyed immediately for the best and freshest flavor, but can be stored in an airtight container and enjoyed the next day. If you are going to put leftovers in the fridge, make sure to store without the crushed graham crackers and banana slices because those will get soggy.

But it isn’t necessary. -The coconut cream does add a very, very slight coconut taste. You can start with 2 tablespoons and see how it taste before you add the third. -You will need about four or 5 medium bananas for this recipe. -I use Simple Mills honey cinnamon sweet thins as my graham crackers.
