This 4 ingredient vegan peanut butter cup nice cream is dairy free, gluten-free with no added sweeteners and so easy to make!
As a primarily plant-based eater, I can honestly say that banana nice cream is one of my favorite vegan ice cream alternatives! Don’t get me wrong, I am certainly a fan of going to the grocery store and finding delicious vegan ice cream but I really hate all of the added sugar and unnecessary ingredients.
That’s why I absolutely love this vegan peanut butter nice cream: only four ingredients, no added sweeteners, fresh and so easy to make and SOO good!
What is Nice Cream?
Nice cream is dairy-free ice cream made with frozen bananas as the base. It’s super easy to make and most of the time you don’t even need to add any sweetener!
Straight from the food processor, the texture is just like soft serve ice cream. You can also add the nice cream to a loaf pan and put it in the freezer for an hour or two and it will harden a bit to a more scoopable consistency.

Ingredients in Vegan Peanut Butter Cup Nice Cream
Frozen Bananas- slice bananas and freeze, preferably overnight for the best texture, but you can also freeze them for 4 hours if you want to make the nice cream the same day.
Natural Peanut Butter- for the ice cream base and to drizzle on top!
Vanilla Extract- this is optional.
Vegan Peanut Butter Cups- I use mini vegan peanut butter cups but it doesn’t matter since you will be cutting them up into smaller pieces anyway!
How to Make
Slice 3 medium bananas and freeze them overnight. Overnight is preferred for the best thick and creamy texture, but if needed, you can freeze them for a minimum of four hours!
Add the frozen sliced bananas, natural peanut butter and vanilla extract to a food processor and process until smooth. Depending on your equipment, you may have to stop several times and use a spatula to move the nice cream closer to the blades so it blends better. I have to do this several times in my Cuisinart.
Once your nice cream is smooth and creamy, remove the blade and cut up your vegan peanut butter cups into bite-size pieces (large or small, your choice) and add them to the food processor and stir.
You can enjoy the vegan peanut butter cup nice cream as a soft serve straight from the food processor, or you can add the nice cream to a loaf pan lined with parchment paper and freeze, covered, for about an hour or two for a more traditional texture.
I love topping this with peanut butter and extra peanut butter cups. Enjoy!

FAQ
Almond butter would be a great alternative. You can use any nut or seed butter.
I have not tried it in a blender, but I think it depends on which kind of blender. You may need to add a little milk to get things moving.
I prefer to eat the nice cream immediately, or after about 2 hours max in the freezer for the freshest taste.
